Rocco di Carpeneto (Piemonte)

Rocco di Carpeneto is an organic vineyard located on a small plateau amidst the hills of Upper Monferrato, the closest part of Piedmont to the Mediterranean Sea. The wines are made only with sun, earth and their own passion, in accordance with the natural pace of Upper Monferrato. Wine production is strictly dedicated to indigenous grapes from Piedmont (cortese, barbera, dolcetto, freisa, albarossa, nebbiolo) grown in old vineyards - mainly planted between 1955 and 1986.

The new cellar, built in 2011-2012, is completely free of artificial yeasts and has a striking architecture. The interior is divided into three levels, with each level having a specific function in the winemaking process. They use a mix of modern and traditional materials, such as wooden barrels and terracotta amphorae, for fermentation and aging.

Rocco di Carpeneto strongly believes in using grapes mainly from their own vineyards and avoids the use of additives and aids in the winemaking process. They use wild yeasts for spontaneous fermentation and minimize the use of sulfites, keeping their wines natural and authentic. By adhering to these principles, they strive to produce consistent and high-quality wines that reflect the unique flavors of the region.
