Located in Montorio al Vomano, in the northern part of Italy’s Abruzzo region, Alfredo June, Nicola Reginaldi, Fabio Petrella and Loreto Lamolinara run Cantina Indigeno. This group of friends rents a few hectares of vineyards in the hills of Teramo, buying the rest of their grapes from neighbouring farmers. They produce light, very gluggable wines while keeping intervention in the cellar to a bare minimum: fermenting with indigenous yeasts, without temperature control, filtration or additions. Their bottlings are famously low in alcohol and they strive to keep their wines as fresh as possible, with crisp acidity and high drinkability.
